A serious accident occurred at an indoor swimming pool in Altstätten on Friday evening. As the Zurich city police wrote in a statement, a six-year-old boy fell from a ladder onto the diving platform. “Shortly before 6 p.m., a six-year-old boy climbed onto the 3-meter diving platform at the Altstätten indoor swimming pool. For reasons still unclear, his foot slipped at the top of the ladder and he fell to the ground. The collision caused serious head injuries.”
After initial care was provided by a team from the Spital Limmattal rescue service, he had to be taken to hospital in a Rega rescue helicopter. The circumstances surrounding how the fall occurred are unclear and are the subject of an investigation by the Zurich city police. There is currently no crime in the foreground.
