Riyadh: A bus carrying passengers caught fire in Afif, Riyadh province. A private bus carrying 40 passengers caught fire on Thursday night on the Afif-Daraiya road, 500 km from Riyadh. The fire broke out after the rear tire of the bus exploded.

Passengers were able to get off the bus before the fire broke out, thus averting a major accident. Later, civil defense officials reached and doused the fire. Civil Defense said none of the passengers were injured. Traffic officials reached the spot and shifted the passengers to safety in heavy rain.

Abu Dhabi: The Environment Agency has warned about the presence of sea snakes on the beaches in Abu Dhabi. In winter, sea snakes choose shallow water-filled areas for hunting and mating. According to the notification, sea snakes can be found in open water areas, coral reefs and beaches.

Sea snakes are usually seen during winter when the temperature drops below 22 degrees Celsius. The average temperature for this week in Abu Dhabi, including the Corniche, is below 21 degrees Celsius. The authorities have also given information about the precautions to be taken by those who go to the beaches if they see sea snakes.
