The drivers got into an argument with the forest department as the night traffic was stopped for the second day on the Thimbam hill near Satyamangalam.
Despite a ban on night traffic on the Thimphu Hill Trail in the Satyamangalam Tiger Reserve in 2019 on the recommendation of the Forest Department due to the death of wildlife crossing the road due to the collision of high speed vehicles, the protest was not enforced by the people.
Following a Chennai High Court order in this regard, night traffic has been banned from 6 pm.
Heavy vehicles were stopped for a second day yesterday. The forest department kept the pear cards at the Pannari check post and sent them back without letting the vehicles go.
