Asteras Tripolis climbed to fifth place in the Super League 1 standings with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Athens Kallithea at the Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium on Saturday. The win sees the Peloponnese side move to 31 points, just one point behind fourth-placed Aris with a game in hand.
The home side dominated the first half, creating several promising chances. Their efforts where rewarded in the 22nd minute when Greek striker, kaltsas, unleashed a stunning volley past Kallithea goalkeeper, Baragan.
Kaltsas controlled a cross with his chest before expertly volleying the ball into the back of the net,sending the home crowd into raptures.
Asteras continued to press in the first half, with Bartolo coming close to doubling their lead with a curling shot that narrowly missed the target.
