The Dozhd TV channel and the Znak.com edition reported on the authorities’ demand to remove the materials about the Project’s investigations. “The editorial office of Znak.com received today 15 notifications from Roskomnadzor (RKN) … In all letters, the supervisory authority refers to the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of October 26, 2021,” wrote the Yekaterinburg portal on Saturday, December 18.

At the same time, RKN threatened to “restrict access” to the corresponding pages of the site, it is indicated below. At the same time, Znak.com noted that, among others, we are talking about the investigations of the “Project”, published before the publication of this publication as an undesirable organization. In particular, there is a material about the business of the ex-President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, about the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and TV presenter Nail Asker-zade. Znak.com indicated that it was forced to delete the article data.

“Rain” has removed 30 publications and excerpts from the air

In turn, the Dozhd TV channel reported on the demand of the RKN to remove 30 publications and excerpts from the air. Among them are the Project’s investigations about Svetlana Krivonogikh, allegedly close acquaintance of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Putin’s two identical offices in the Moscow region and Sochi, Ramzan Kadyrov’s entourage and property, the family of LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, and the business of Putin’s chef Yevgeny Prigozhin.

The TV channel also complied with the requirement of the supervisory authority and removed the publications.

The “project” is recognized as an “undesirable organization”

At the end of June 2021, searches were carried out at the Project’s journalists, and in July the organization that published it, Project Media, was declared “undesirable” in Russia. In the same month, Project Media announced its self-liquidation, then many journalists of the publication were included in the register of media outlets – “foreign agents”. At the end of October, Roskomnadzor blocked the Project’s website in Russia.
