Gonzalo Gaps Disappointed (La Liga)
By the middle of the season all La Liga teams were afraid to get to Rayo Vallecano’s Waikas Stadium, with the Whites not losing in their first ten league games at home. Tonight (Monday) they actually recorded a negative streak when they parted ways 1-1 with Valencia in a game that locked the 31st round of the Spanish league and did not win their last seven games at home. After a first half in which the game did not rise to a high level and both teams had a hard time getting into situations, the first to get on the scoreboard were the Bats. Carlos Soler made a move to the box and received a wide ball which he sent with a touch to the net of Stola Dimitrovsky. Rayo really did not let the lag lower her morale, she held the ball while she enjoyed tremendous support from the home crowd and managed to get into situations time and time again. In the 83rd minute it finally found the net when Sergi Guardiola was sent with a deep ball into the box and did not get confused in front of Giorgi Mamardshvili to establish a tie that did not serve either team.
Valencia is ranked 9th with 42 points and is 12 points away from the place that leads to Europe next season. The host on the other hand is in 13th place with 34 points, just six more than Cadiz which is below the red line.
