MIAMI – Organizers are calling the second edition of the 1000 Miglia Experience Florida a success, highlighting its potential to boost business for Italian companies looking to establish a presence in the United States. The event, a scaled-down version of the famed Italian road race, concluded in Miami on Monday, February 23, 2026, after several days of competition and showcasing Italian automotive excellence across the state. The 1000 Miglia Experience Florida is quickly becoming a significant event for enthusiasts and a platform for Italian brands.

Massimo Cicatiello, president of 1000 Miglia Experience Florida, stated the event’s outcome was “absolutely positive,” noting the satisfaction derived from achieving its initial goals. “This second edition has given us great satisfaction and we have also emphasized what we set out to do from the beginning, namely that the Mille Miglia brand can also be a driver for Italian companies that want to be present here in the US territory,” Cicatiello said, according to a report from Italpress.

A Blend of Competition and Italian Heritage

The 2026 event, which ran from February 20-23, featured approximately seventy teams competing in various categories. The race isn’t simply a speed contest; it’s designed to combine competitive driving with a celebration of Italian heritage, and hospitality. Participants began with a “Training Day” at the Hyper Club Evaluation Center & Johnny Bòhmer Proving Grounds in Naples, including technical and sporting inspections, followed by an opening dinner at the Revs Institute Museum, home to the Miles Collier Collections.

The route itself was carefully curated, taking drivers through scenic Florida landscapes. The first leg on Saturday, February 21, took teams from Naples to Venice and then onward to Tampa. Sunday’s stage saw competitors travel from Tampa through Lakeland, with an exclusive track session at the Sebring International Raceway, before finishing in West Palm Beach. The final leg on Monday led from West Palm Beach to the finish line in Miami.

Key Moments and Public Access

Spectators had several opportunities to view the race firsthand. The event kicked off with a departure ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton Naples on the morning of February 21. A control point and timed trials were held at Centennial Park in Venice, coinciding with the city’s centennial celebrations. The Lake Mirror Promenade in Lakeland also provided a viewing point, and drivers made an iconic pass down Ocean Drive before arriving at the final destination, The Biltmore Hotel in Miami.

A complete schedule of “Passing Times,” estimating the arrival of the first vehicle at various locations, was made available to the public.

Partnership with NIAF Strengthens US-Italy Ties

The 1000 Miglia Experience Florida is also benefiting from a strategic partnership with the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF). The agreement, announced in July 2024, aims to strengthen the connection between the United States and Italy. Robert Allegrini, president of NIAF, and Massimo Cicatiello formalized the partnership, with the goal of establishing the “Freccia Rossa” – the “Red Arrow” – as a well-known Italian brand in the US. More details on the partnership can be found on the 1000 Miglia Experience Florida website.

Cicatiello emphasized the historical significance of the 1000 Miglia, describing it as a race rooted in nearly a century of tradition and a symbol of Italian excellence. He stated that the event embodies prestige, luxury, and “Made in Italy” quality. Allegrini added that the 1000 Miglia is a unique event that combines tradition, innovation, creativity, and the Italian lifestyle, bringing it to the US for the first time.

Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, NIAF will serve as the “Official Partner of 1000 Miglia Experience USA Florida,” promoting the race within its community and facilitating relationships with American cities and counties involved in the event.

Looking Ahead

The success of the 2026 event builds on the momentum of its inaugural run, signaling a growing interest in the 1000 Miglia Experience Florida. Organizers hope to continue expanding the event, attracting more participants and further solidifying its position as a premier automotive and cultural experience in the United States. The next key date for those interested in participating or attending is the opening of registration for the 2027 event, details of which will be announced in the coming months.
