The small town of La Haye-Malherbe has just experienced a terrible tragedy. On July 22, in the early evening, a 15-and-a-half-year-old boy was stabbed to death by two other teenagers. The latter were quickly arrested and then placed in police custody, we learned this Sunday, July 23 from the local prosecutor’s office.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim was walking on foot in the town of this town of around 1,500 inhabitants, located west of Louviers, between Évreux and Rouen. For a reason still unknown, a “verbal argument” occurred before 7 p.m. on the public highway between the victim and two young people, “barely 16 years old” and arrived in a cart without a license, the same source said.
A blow to the chest
The victim was stabbed in the chest and died despite emergency services. An autopsy will be performed at the beginning of the week and will complete the first findings of the medical examiner on site. The police custody of the two teenagers, questioned for “intentional homicide”, “will undoubtedly be extended at the end of the day”, indicated to AFP the assistant prosecutor of Évreux, Sandrine Ballanger.

Many hearings are in progress, because the facts took place in front of witnesses foreign to the group of the three protagonists, all three “locals”, specified the magistrate. The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of the gendarmerie of Louviers, with the support of the research section (SR) of Rouen.
