150 Dead and Many Injured After Building Collapses in Nepal Earthquake

Kathmandu – A powerful earthquake struck the western part of Nepal, causing a building to collapse and resulting in a death toll of 150. The earthquake, which registered 6.4 on the Richter scale, was felt for more than a minute. The epicenter of the quake was located in Lamitanda in Jajarkot, according to the National Seismological Center.

Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Tahal, has announced that the country’s three forces are actively engaged in rescue and relief work. The affected districts include Jajarkot, Tailek, Salyan, and Rolpa, as confirmed by the Home Ministry. This is the third earthquake to hit Nepal in the last 30 days.

The impact of the earthquake was not only limited to Nepal but was also felt in neighboring areas such as Noida and Patna, including the Indian capital Delhi. The number of casualties due to building collapses has risen to 150, while many others have been admitted to hospitals with serious injuries.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, stating, “I am heartbroken to know the losses caused by the earthquake in Nepal.
