17 million euros of additional financing will be provided to Armenia

Today, the National Assembly discussed the loan agreement signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Bank for Reconstruction and Development. According to this agreement, it is planned to attract additional 17 million euros.

RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan, who presented from the podium the draft law on ratifying the loan agreement “Additional financing for social investment and local development program” signed between the Republic of Armenia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on April 21, 2020, noted that the agreement it is proposed to continue the two previous programs implemented by the Territorial Development Fund, which were aimed at the development of infrastructures of social importance in communities.

He informed that the cost of the last project implemented so far was 30 million dollars. Kindergartens, schools, as well as health facilities were reconstructed within the framework of the implemented project. In addition, some kindergartens and schools were provided with property.

“With the proposed agreement, we expect to receive additional financing, which will amount to around 17 million euros. We consider this program to be effective,” Terteryan emphasized.
