1st International Film Academy Exhibition at the São Paulo Metro

On February 3rd and 10th, starting at 6 pm, films made by students of the International Film Academy will be shown at the Cultural Space of Santa Cecilia Station. The show is part of the Linha da Cultura program, linked to the Communication and Marketing Management of the São Paulo Metro. The project’s premise is to offer passengers activities and artistic-cultural proposals that give a new meaning to their trip and the use of transport in their daily lives.

“There will be free Cinema sessions for Metro passengers. The Exhibition will take place on Fridays, at the end of the afternoon, on the way home, when most people from São Paulo are already starting to relax for the weekend. Metro passengers will be able to allow themselves to dream a little, forget about reality – or reflect on it – watching films awarded at international festivals and at the 11th AIC Festival”, explained Vanessa Prieto, coordinator of Fimworks (Technical Course in Cinematographic Direction at AIC ), and the TAC (Film and TV Acting Technician)

The show is expected to last two hours, showing approximately 10 films, on the 3rd and 10th of February. Among those chosen for the first exhibition are: Village Cardsby Lucas Lyrio, awarded in the Best Editing category at the 2022 Filmworks Film Festival; I’m waiting Você Voltar, by Marina Lavarini, awarded in the Free Cinema category, at the Filmworks Film Festival; static, by Gabriela Queiroz, awarded in the Best Leading Act Category at the FWFF; motorcyclesby Jorge Henrique Aguiar de Paula, who received a Film Honorable Mention at the FWFF; In the eyes of girlsproduced by students from TAC and the Art Direction Course.

In operation since 1986, the Linha da Cultura has promoted approximately 10,000 cultural activities, such as exhibitions, musical performances, theater, cinema and literary activities, in addition to partnerships with cultural institutions that present their collections and a program of activities together with the Metrô.
