Today’s test triggered emergency talks between top nuclear ambassadors from South Korea, the United States and Japan, who said they were ‘paying close attention to North Korea’s next moves’.
Kim Jong-un has repeatedly violated the UN embargo on North Korea’s ballistic and nuclear tests over the past year, after promising to increase his country’s security.
