The 73rd Strongja Memorial International Boxing Tournament is taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the women’s 52kg quarterfinals, former junior world champion Nihat Zareen advanced to the semifinals after defeating England’s Charlie Davician 5-0.
Similarly, in the quarterfinals of the 48 kg weight category, the Indian athlete defeated Roberta Bonatti of Italy 5-0 to reach the semi-finals. With both of them entering the semi-finals, India are guaranteed 2 more medals. It is to be recalled that Indian athlete Nandini (81 kg) had already secured the first medal.
