Madurai: 2 new judges of Madras High Court have been posted to Madurai Branch of High Court.

The new Madras High Court Judges L.Victoria Gowri and KK Ramakrishnan have been transferred to the Madurai branch of the High Court. They are hearing the cases in the High Court branch from tomorrow.

The notice issued by the Registrar of the High Court in this regard: In the Madurai Branch of the High Court, Judges D. Krishnakumar and R. Vijayakumar were hearing public interest cases and writ appeals in the first session, while Judges J. Jayachandran and Sundarmohan were hearing impeachment petitions and criminal writ petitions.

These sessions are rescheduled from today. Justice L.Victoria Gowri replaced Justice R.Vijayakumar in the first session. Justice KK Ramakrishnan will also work in place of Justice Sundarmohan in the 2nd session. Justice Victoria Gowri will hear old jurisprudence review petitions while Justice KK Ramakrishnan will hear old criminal petitions (filed under Sections 407, 482 CrPC) and writ petitions (CRPC) during separate hearings after the session.

Justices GR Swaminathan (from 2020 onwards), P. Bhujaendhi (from 2016 to 2019), K. Kumaresh Babu (from 2015) Minerals and Mining, Land Reforms, Land Rent, Land Ceiling, Land Acquisition, Right to Information Act, Martyrs Investigates pension related petitions.

It has been reported that Judge R. Vijayakumar will hear the patent review petitions, company appeal petitions and Judge Sundarmohan will hear the 2nd appeal petitions from the year 2017.
