During the session of the FIBA Europe Executive Committee, the issue of holding the 2025 Men’s U20 Division B Championship was discussed, and as a result of long discussions, the candidacy of Armenia was chosen. The Basketball Federation of Armenia writes about this.
According to the federation, 24 European teams will arrive in the capital of Armenia to participate in the 2025 U20 European Division B basketball championship.
According to Artur Nazaryan, General Secretary of the FBF, the tournament will be the biggest international team sports event held in Armenia to date.
“In the last 6 months, there have been a number of discussions with FIBA Europe regarding our application, as it is a large tournament with a large number of participants. The guarantees given by the Armenian government and the FBF satisfied FIBA Europe, thanks to which our bid was declared the winner. The championship will be held in three gymnasiums in Yerevan in July 2025,” said Artur Nazaryan.
