In separate news, Federal Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch recently addressed the controversy surrounding the arrest of edgar Rodríguez “El Limones” and alleged links to Deputy Pedro Haces and the CATEM union. García Harfuch asserted that the investigation originated from complaints of extortion, unrelated to any union affiliation. “The investigation began due to specific complaints of extortion, which are not linked to any union, it is a direct extortion, from charging businessmen, farmers, for water, water wells, various crimes that are being investigated, but none are linked as such with any union or with any political link,” he stated at a press conference. He further clarified that the investigation focuses on a criminal cell operating in Durango and Coahuila, known as “Los Cabrera.”
The question of whether “Limones” was affiliated with CATEM remains unanswered, with García Harfuch maintaining that the investigation is not currently exploring that connection. The situation has sparked debate and speculation regarding potential political implications.
