On August 9th, 2022, the couple Ingeborg Kropp-Arend and Dr. Stefan Arend made a donation of 2,500 euros to the Kangaroo Association of the Fulda Clinic. The couple took Ingeborg Kropp-Arend’s birthday party as an opportunity to express their gratitude to the Clinic for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the Fulda Clinic and, instead of birthday presents, collected donations for the Kangaroo Association. This raised a total of 2,500 euros, which the couple who chaired the association, Susanne Möller, and the director of the clinic for children and adolescent medicine, Prof. Dr. Reinald Repp handed over. “26 years ago we experienced the enormous medical performance, humanity and care of the children’s hospital and we still have a deep connection to this day,” says Ingeborg Kropp-Arend. “Mrs. Möller was part of our children’s care team at the time. It was therefore clear to us that we should now support the Kangaroo Association, which supports premature babies and their parents through many honorary members. Without this voluntary work, many projects that are very important for parents and children during the hospital stay simply could not be realized,” says Ingeborg Kropp-Arend. Prof. Repp gratefully accepted the donation together with Ms. Möller. “With this donation we will finance a music therapist who will play music with the little patients and sing with mothers in the premature baby ward while they hold their children in their arms,” explains Ms. Möller. The non-profit association Kangaroo eV was founded in 1994 and helps to make the hospital stay of the little patients and their parents as comfortable as possible. It consists of more than 300 members – including parents, employees of the children’s clinic and interested parties – who want to support the projects for the little patients and their parents. +++
