27 IPS Officers, Including 3 DGPs, Transferred in Tamil Nadu Police Department

27 IPS officers, including 3 DGPs, have been transferred in a major reshuffle in the Tamil Nadu Police Department. The order was issued by Tamil Nadu Principal Home Secretary B. Amuda on Friday.

Some of the prominent transfers include PK Ravi, who has been appointed as the DGP of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Anti-Corruption Branch, while K. Vanniaperumal has been appointed as the DGP of the Anti-Smuggling Unit. Rajeev Kumar has been appointed as the DGP of the Constable Training Division, and P. Balanagadevi has been appointed as the ATGP of the Economic Offenses Wing.

Other transfers include Abin Dinesh Modak, who will now be the ATGP of the State Crime Branch, and Vineet Dev Wankhede, who will be the ATGP of the Administrative Division.

The transfers also include several Commissioners and Inspectors General (IGs), such as Pramodkumar, who will now head the Karur Tamil Nadu Paper Mills Anti-Corruption Division, and N. Kamini, who has been appointed as the Trichy Metropolitan Police Commissioner.

J.Loganathan has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police in Madurai, and KS Narendran Nai will be the IG of South Zone. Azra Kak has been appointed as the Additional Commissioner of Police North.

Santoshkumar has been transferred to the IG Tamil Nadu Anti-Corruption Department, while K. Bhavaneshwari will be the West Zone IG.

The transfers also include a reshuffle in the Chennai Metropolitan Police Department, with Kapil Kumar C. Sarathkar appointed as the Additional Commissioner of Police to head the department. A.Kayalvizhi will be the Joint Commissioner at the headquarters, and P. Samundeswari will be the Joint Commissioner of the North Zone.

The reshuffle is significant as it is the first under the leadership of Director General Shankar Jiwal. The transfers come after the tragic suicide of Vijayakumar, the Coimbatore DIG. A. Saravanasund has been appointed as the new Coimbatore DIG in his place.

The transferred officers are expected to assume their new duties in the coming days.
