The White House has warned Israel of the possibility of an arms embargo if US demands for a change in Gaza tactics are not met. Administration spokesman John Kirby said the letter sent to Israeli leadership is a warning and contains an urgent request to ease the blockade of the Gaza Strip. Kirby stressed that this is not a threat, but expressed the hope that this signal will not have to be repeated.
Among the demands put forward by Washington is an increase in the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Experts, however, believe that a siege is the fastest way to end the conflict. The Biden administration is also insisting that Israel allow International Red Cross officials access to detained Hamas militants, even though Hamas itself continues to block visits to Israeli hostages.
The US is also demanding that Israel drop legal proceedings against UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, despite existing evidence of its alleged links to Hamas.
Earlier, Cursor wrote that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may abandon his previous promise not to strike Iranian nuclear and oil facilities. According to sources close to the American government, the previously reached agreement with US President Joe Biden on this issue is not final. American officials note that if the situation changes, Israel may reconsider its position and take appropriate steps.
