After the civil war in 1949, Taiwan separated from China and emerged as an independent country, which China still claims as a part of their country. In this context, the US’s recent rapprochement with Taiwan has angered China.
China is threatening to invade and occupy Taiwan if necessary. Due to this, severe hostilities have been going on between the two countries for the past few months.
China yesterday sent 31 warplanes into Taiwan’s territory to threaten Taiwan. Apart from that, China also sent 4 warships into Taiwan waters.
In a statement released by Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense, “Today at 6 am, 31 warplanes and 4 warships, including bombers belonging to the Chinese military, trespassed into Taiwan.
Following this, Taiwan’s military deployed air and sea patrols and ground-based missile systems to monitor the situation,” it said. China’s aggression has increased tensions between the two countries.
