Kodunkaiyur: On the 20th, the police arrested 41-year-old Joseph of Kodunkaiyur, Muthamil, along with 500 kg of Gutka and imprisoned him.
He had already written an affidavit to Pulianthop Deputy Commissioner Iswaran last September that he would not engage in criminal activities.
In spite of this, the police recommended action against him as he was jailed for selling Gutka. After this, the deputy commissioner of Pulianthoppu ordered him to be imprisoned. Subsequently, Joseph was imprisoned for 323 days.
