“Bremen Masters” turned out to be very interesting. Usually more European countries take part in this tournament, but this time judokas from Brazil, Japan, Uzbekistan and other Asian countries were also present.

The head coach of the Azerbaijani youth judo team, Elkhan Mamedov, told İdman.biz.

The 42-year-old specialist appreciated the performance of our team at the Bremen Masters in Germany. He noted that winning 4 gold and 3 bronze medals in a tense competition and first place in the team competition indicates development:

“Last year we were ahead of everyone with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. But this time we participated in the tournament as a stronger team. Some athletes pleased me. Of course, there were those who did not live up to expectations. The year has just begun. This is also normal. Brazil and Uzbekistan participated in this competition with full teams. The leading Japanese heavyweight athletes did not compete. We won medals in almost all weight categories. In the 100 kg weight category, no one represented us. The only gap is in the 81 kg weight. We We are looking. We think that we will soon solve this problem. Considering all this, I can say that our results are very good. 4 gold is not an ordinary success.

Let us note that at the Bremen Masters our judokas Muhammad Musayev (66 kg), Suleiman Aliyev (73 kg), Aslan Kotsoev (90 kg) and Kanan Nasibov (+100 kg) won gold medals, defeating all their opponents. Third place was taken by Babarakhim Mirzaev (60 kg), Islam Ragimov (66 kg) and Tundjay Shamil (90 kg).
