Faced with the potential riots that could occur again this Saturday July 1, Gérald Darmanin chose to renew the law enforcement system already in place on the night of June 30 to July 1. Thus 45,000 police and gendarmes will be mobilized, to try to neutralize the riots which have shaken the country since the death of young Nahel on June 27 in Nanterre.
In Marseille and Lyon, the main cities affected on Friday evening, the police will be considerably reinforced, added the Minister of the Interior. The CRS 8, specializing in urban violence, will be deployed in Lyon and three CRS companies, or 200 agents, sent to Marseille.
