“She, the Change” – that’s the name of the women’s organization of “We continue the change”, established last weekend. And at the head, just like in the party, will be co-chairs – MPs Denitsa Simeonova and Kalina Konstantinova.

47% of the members of “Continuing the change” are women, and the creation of such a community can help their more active participation in civil processes and politics. The next step, after strengthening our community, will be to positively influence more young women to decide to engage in politics, Denitsa Simeonova told “24 Chasa”.

50 representatives of PP from all over the country attended the founding meeting. The guest of the forum was the co-chairman of “Promyanata” and finance minister Asen Vassilev, who was asked a lot of questions about both management and party positions.

Construction of structures begins in every regional city. The national board of “She, the Change” will also have a representative of Bulgarian women abroad, appointed by the structures of the PP abroad. You know that we insist on the creation of MIR for abroad, we work a lot with our compatriots there, explained Simeonova. The first PP club with an office was in Vienna, but there were also communities in Brussels, London and other European cities.

The women’s club will host expert discussions on topics such as domestic violence, women’s health, and gender equality.

In Bulgaria, traditionally, women are relatively well represented both in politics and in public processes. Nevertheless, one of the priorities of the EU is equality, as well as in pay, which at some point would also affect pensions, Simeonova explained.

Only in 2023, for the first time, there will be at least one female deputy in all parliaments around the world. But the fact that this is happening only now shows the need for the creation of such an organization, adds the MP. And he cites studies that say it may not be until 80 years from now that there may be parity between women and men in parliaments worldwide.
