NEW YORK – Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is partnering with Planet Hollywood to transform its Times Square location into “PH Live,” a next-generation entertainment hub, the companies announced Tuesday. The $100 million venture aims to elevate the iconic tourist destination into an exclusive, celebrity-driven experience, blending music, film, dining, and nightlife.
The collaboration marks a significant expansion of Jackson’s influence beyond music and into the hospitality sector, leveraging his extensive network and cultural capital. Planet Hollywood, known for its movie memorabilia and themed restaurants, is seeking to revitalize its flagship location and attract a more discerning clientele. This partnership builds on a previous successful collaboration, a six-day residency Jackson held at PH Live at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, where he performed his hits and brought out special guests like Flo Rida and Jeremih.
Robert Earl, CEO of Planet Hollywood, described Jackson as possessing “an incredible ability to bring culture, entertainment and audiences together.” He added that Jackson’s “global influence and creative vision” will be instrumental in ushering Planet Hollywood into “a new era of immersive entertainment.” Jackson himself stated the goal is “creating the ultimate entertainment destination,” a place where “music, film, sports and nightlife collide.”
A New Ambience for Times Square
PH Live will reimagine the Planet Hollywood Times Square space, moving beyond its traditional appeal as a family-friendly tourist stop. The revamped venue will feature several key elements designed to attract a high-profile crowd. A “Surprise Performance Hub” will host unannounced sets from 50 Cent and his network of A-list collaborators, creating an element of exclusivity and spontaneity. The space will also function as “The G-Unit Pipeline,” a dedicated area for premieres of Jackson’s film and television projects, effectively extending his social media presence into a physical location.
Perhaps the most exclusive aspect of PH Live will be a tiered, invitation-only membership program. This program will offer priority reservations and access to events not open to the general public, fostering a sense of community and rewarding loyal patrons.
