At today’s government session, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that 3.2 percent economic growth was predicted for 2021, but economic growth forecasts are being revised upwards.

“Now economic growth of 6 percent is predicted, but it is important that we collect the revenue part of the state budget in parallel with these indicators, and in that sense we have an overachievement of the semester,” said Pashinyan.

The chairman of SRC said that tax revenue collection during the first half of the year amounted to more than 750 billion drams.

“We can say that for the first half of the year we have a surplus of 52.5 billion drams,” said Edward Hovhannisyan.

Acting Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan also said that in the light of the new forecasts, they will discuss what the developments will be from the point of view of the branch structure of the economy.

“This 6 percent economic growth forecast is based on the logic that we can have between 43 and 77 billion drams of additional tax revenues, but this needs to be adjusted,” Janjughazyan said.
