The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announces data concerning the evolution of the turnover of companies active in the sectors of Accommodation and Catering Services, by Regional Unit of Greece, incorporating the latest data on turnover from Administrative Sources, December and Fourth Quarter 2023.
The turnover of businesses in the Accommodation sector (branch 55 of the NACE Rev.2 classification) in the year 2023 amounted to 9,683,582,528 euros, marking an increase of 10.1% compared to the year 2022, where it had risen to 8,793,103,758 euro. Accordingly, the turnover of businesses in the Catering Services sector (industry 56 of the NACE Rev.2 classification) amounted to 9,227,995,765 euros, marking an increase of 9.6% compared to the year 2022, where it had risen to 8,421,363,364 euros .
For enterprises in the Accommodation sector (industry 55 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification) of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in turnover between the years 2023 and 2022 was observed in the Regional Units of Zakynthos (21.7%) and Halkidiki (19.4%), while a decrease was recorded in the Regional Unit of Mykonos (10.9%) and Thira (3.0%).
For enterprises in the Catering Services sector (industry 56 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification) of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in turnover between the years 2023 and 2022 was observed in Regional Units of Corinth (21.3%) and Zakynthos (21.0%), while a decrease (2.9%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Mykonos.
Cumulatively for the businesses in the sectors of Accommodation and Catering Services (sectors 55 and 56 of the NACE Rev. 2 classification), the turnover in the year 2023 amounted to 18,911,578,292 euros, marking an increase of 9.9% compared to the year 2022 , where it had risen to 17,214,467,122 euros.
For the enterprises of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 greater than 1.0%, the greatest increase in turnover between the years 2023 and 2022 was observed in the Regional Units of Zakynthos (21.5%) and Halkidiki (16.4 %), while a decrease was recorded in the Regional Units of Mykonos (8.1%) and Thira (2.1%).

For businesses of the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in turnover in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the fourth quarter of 2022 was observed in the Regional Unit of Corfu (12.5%) and the smallest increase (2.2%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Rethymnon, while the largest decrease was recorded in the Regional Unit of Magnesia (6.0%).

For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2023 greater than 1.0%, the largest increase in turnover in December 2023 compared to December 2022 was observed in the Regional Unit of Mykonos (58.3%) and the smallest increase ( 3.0%) was recorded in the Region of Attica, while the largest decrease (26.4%) was recorded in the Regional Unit of Halkidiki.
