Bangalore: In Karnataka, 99.99% of students wrote the Class 10 general examination without wearing hijab, according to the state education minister.

The state government has banned educational institutions in Karnataka from wearing the hijab. In the case against this restraining order, the High Court upheld the order of the State Government. Amid protests across the state against the hijab ban, an appeal was filed in the Supreme Court against the High Court ruling. Rejecting the request for the case to be heard as a matter of urgency as the general election is approaching in the state, it said, “The election has nothing to do with wearing the hijab. Do not stir up this issue.”

In this context, the general examination for Class X began in Karnataka on Monday. In the state, about 8.69 lakh students had applied for the exam.

Students writing the state government exam must come in uniform; Students who do not come in uniform will not be allowed to take the exam. Those who missed the exam were told that re-election would not be held. The circular has been sent to all schools, Karnataka Education Minister P.C. Nagesh had said.

In this situation, the students who came to the examination wearing hijab for the general examination which started today, were advised to wear it. A student who did not come in uniform was asked to come in uniform. He also came in uniform and wrote his selection.

Speaking to reporters after the first day’s examination, the Education Minister said, “We are emphasizing that the hijab issue was caused by some people. 99.99 per cent of our children wrote the exam without the hijab. Only four students were reported to have failed the exam. We need to ascertain whether they are students or outsiders who have obstructed the examination process.” ” said

Class 10 general examination in Karnataka will be held till April 11. Today alone, 8.48 lakh students have appeared for the exam. According to state government data, 20,994 people did not appear for the exams.
