by time news

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly planning to showcase an all-electric SUV concept at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new electric SUV concept will be Maruti Suzuki’s first attempt at an all-electric vehicle program.

The all-electric SUV is currently being developed under the code name YY8 and is said to be bigger than the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Initially, only the concept form of this car will be introduced, and its production version is said to be released by 2025.

Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric vehicle is expected to compete with the likes of the Nexon EV Max and Mahindra XUV400 in the Indian market. This electric car is being developed by Maruti Suzuki in collaboration with Toyota. Like the Granat Vitara Urban Cruiser Highrider, the same car will debut under Toyota branding.

The new YY8 model is built on the 27PL electric skateboard architecture. And we can expect this car to be the foundation for future electric cars from Maruti Suzuki. Although the YY8 model will be for the international market, its production will reportedly take place at Maruti Suzuki’s plant in Gujarat.
