Nagpur: Amrita Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the country’s second father of the nation. Amrita’s remarks were made during an interview at a discussion held by the Writers’ Association in Nagpur.
The first comment was that Modi is the father of the nation. When the question about who is Mahatma Gandhi was raised from the audience, Modi and Gandhi mentioned that he is the father of the nation of India. India has two fathers of the nation. Modi is the father of new India and Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the era, she said.
In 2019, Amrita’s tweet wishing her a happy birthday and calling Modi the father of the nation was controversial. Amrita’s tweet said, “Happy birthday to the father of our nation, Narendra Modi.” Amrita’s tweet against Shiv Sena leader and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray was also very controversial.
