The lull promises to be short-lived. While the finance bill for 2023 has just been adopted by the National Assembly by recourse to 49.3, the elected representatives of the majority are already planning on his successor. Several projects will be launched in the coming weeks to put Emmanuel Macron’s tax promises to music and find budgetary savings, with a view to a 2024 budget which promises to be particularly difficult.

In fact, the presidential camp expects “2023 to be a particularly difficult year economically and politically, much more than 2022”, according to a member of the government. This is particularly true for the next finance bill, which must at the same time begin to restore the accounts while applying the new tax reductions of the program of the head of state.
