Guwahati: In Assam, a 10-month-old baby was kidnapped after its mother was killed. The incident took place in Guwahati, Assam. The couple who kidnapped the baby reportedly gave it to their childless daughter. Four people were arrested in the incident.
Nithumoni Lukhurakhon of Kenduguri Bailung village went missing from the market in Simaluguri on Monday evening. Their bodies were found in a drain in Rajabari Tea Estate in Charaideo district on Tuesday morning.
Subsequently, the child was rescued after a concerted effort by police teams from Simaluguri, Shivsagar, Charaideo and Jorhat. Attempts were made to take the baby to Himachal Pradesh, where the couple’s daughter lives.
