UN urges Taliban to end restrictions on women in Afghanistan emphasized.
The Taliban, who are ruling Afghanistan, recently banned girls from going to educational institutions.
While there has been strong opposition to this around the world, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Durk, has urged the Taliban to immediately withdraw their policies on women and girls.
She said she believes the Taliban’s restrictions on women will not only increase the suffering of all Afghans, but also pose a danger beyond Afghanistan’s borders.
