A student has drowned in the sea after going to the beach of Kudumba Sakitam Ebravoor Chaukkadi.
A student named Manapdeen Abdur Rahman (19 years old) from Ebravoor area, Batticaloa died yesterday.
This unfortunate act took place when he was about to appear for the high level examination on the 23rd.
Massive wave
In connection with this incident, it is revealed that the family of Sakhitam, who is a student of a high quality art department in a school in Ebravur, went to the beach of Ebravur Saukkadi.
At that time the said student was taking a bath with his brother when both were swept away by a huge wave.
Later, when both of them came ashore in another wave, the said student had died.
Also, his brother was rescued in a critical condition and taken to Edravur Resource Hospital and later admitted to Batticaloa Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
