Kottayam: The police have arrested the main accused in the case of the death of a medical college hospital nurse due to food poisoning. The Gandhinagar police arrested Moosakutty’s son Muhammad Sirajuddin (20) at his house in Pilathottam, Melmuri Palathinkal area, Tirur, Malappuram. Vinod Kumar’s wife Rashmi Raj, who is also a staff nurse at the Medical College Hospital, died of food poisoning at her Palathara house in Kilirur after eating food ordered from a hotel in Kottayam Sankranti on the 29th.

Then Sirajuddin, the chief cook of the hotel, was absconding while the Gandhinagar police registered a case and was investigating. Subsequently, a special investigation team was formed under the leadership of District Police Chief K. Karthik and the search for him was strengthened, but he was caught from Kadampuzha in Malappuram district.

Gandhinagar Station SHO Shiji K, Kottayam West SI Sreejith, Gandhinagar SI Vidya V, Pawanan MC, CPO Maraya Anish VK, Praveeno PV, Subish, Rakesh, Anish were also in the investigation team. The accused was produced in court. The police said that further investigation is being conducted in this regard.
