A gas pipeline from Lithuania to Latvia exploded and caused a terrible fire.
Amber Grid supplies gas from Lithuania to Latvia through 2 pipelines. In this case, a pipe burst in Panevezys area and the fire spread to a height of about 50 meters.
After the gas supply was immediately stopped and the fire was extinguished, efforts were being made to restore the gas supply through another pipeline where the fire did not occur, Amkar Grid CEO said. He also said that there is no evidence of any attack on gas pipelines.
