Copetown: India wins Under-19 Women’s Twenty20 World Cup Cricket Championship. In the first match, India defeated the hosts South Africa by seven wickets.

Opener Shweta Sehrawat scored an unbeaten 92 off 57 balls and was the architect of India’s success. Captain Shafali Verma was dismissed after scoring 45 runs off 16 balls. Shafali, who took two wickets, also shone in bowling.

Batting first, South Africa scored 166 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Batting in reply, India achieved the target in 16.3 overs with the loss of only three wickets. India will face UAE tomorrow.
