Following this, the Law Commission of India had written a letter to AIADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami about 2 weeks ago seeking his opinion regarding the One Country One Election.
Similar letters were also sent to various political parties. The Law Commission had directed the political parties to submit their comments by January 16.
Following this, Edappadi Palaniswami has sent a reply letter to the Law Commission of India stating that the AIADMK supports the central government’s policy of ‘one country, one election’.

Due to factional conflict in the AIADMK, when Edappadi Palanichami and OPS are moving for the leadership post, the central government sent a letter mentioning Edappadi as the interim general secretary of the AIADMK, which has caused a major setback for the OPS side.
