REGION – On February 4 it is World Cancer Day, Support Center De IJssel, (formerly Inloophuis de IJssel) is asking extra attention for cancer patients in the region on this day. On Thursday, February 2, they will reflect on this with a lecture: “Fatigue in Cancer Patients”.

Characteristic of fatigue during or after cancer is that it develops suddenly, without exertion or warning beforehand. You feel extremely exhausted and recovering takes longer than with normal exercise. There is a reduced load capacity, both physically and mentally. How do you deal with this? Later effects of cancer can affect your work or activities. How do you deal with that?

The presentation is in the hands of Kim Hulscher, coordinator of peer contact and information at Olijf. Olive is a network for women with gynecological cancer. This evening is suitable for all people who have or have had to deal with cancer, either themselves or with a loved one. The lecture will start at 2:00 PM and will last until 3:30 PM. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions during the meeting. Entrance is free. Do you want to sign up? This can be done via [email protected]
