Juicy priceOn this luxury ship, the passengers decide where to go

From 2025 you can not only move in on board the luxury ship MV Narrative, but also help determine the route. Provided you have enough budget.

There’s a lot going on in the world of ships. With the Orient Express Silverseas, the largest sailing ship in the world will set sail from 2026. A year earlier, another XXL ship with a special concept sets sail: on the MV Narrative, the passengers not only live on board, but also help determine the ports of call.

Behind it is the American shipping company Storylines, whose luxury ship is currently being built in Split in Croatia. 547 cabins are being built on 18 decks, which are intended for long-term rental. The idea: live, work or retire on board as a community and travel the world at the same time – a trip around the world takes three years.

The ship makes stopovers at ports on all six continents for between one and seven days. Particularly exciting: the passengers have the opportunity to submit their wishes regarding the route and, for example, to vote on which Caribbean island the MV Narrative should dock next.

That’s life on a cruise ship

Interested in a home on the high seas? You won’t get bored on your trip around the world, because if you live on board the luxury ship from 2025, 1000 other passengers will be among your neighbors with whom you can make friends.

Together you can try your way through 20 bars and restaurants, stroll through the ship’s garden, read one of 10,000 books in the library, drink a beer from the ship’s brewery and swim in the three pools. There is also a post office, a school, a hospital, a bank, offices, a fitness and spa area and an anti-aging clinic on board.

Of course, such a lifestyle is anything but cheap. The purchase prices for the apartments in eleven categories with an area of 22 to 133 square meters are between one and eight million francs. It is assumed that the luxury ship has a lifetime of 60 years.

Hol dir den Lifestyle-Push!

In addition, a limited number of apartments are available, which can be rented for 24 years at prices starting at CHF 600,000. There is also the option of sharing apartments or renting them only seasonally. Either way: If you have the wherewithal, you have to be quick. Because most of the apartments are already off the market.
