Tel Aviv is the most expensive city in the world, followed by Damascus; Economic Intelligence Unit Survey Result

London: Tel Aviv, the Israeli city, has become the most expensive city to live in in the world. The findings are based on a survey conducted by the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU).

This is the first time that Tel Aviv has topped the list, according to a survey released by EIU. Tel Aviv was ranked fifth in last year’s survey.

The Israeli city topped the list, beating Paris, which topped the list last year, to second place along with Singapore.

At the bottom of the list is Damascus, the capital of Syria. Last year too, Damascus was at the bottom of the list.

The list is based on a survey of 173 cities. The survey compared the cost of goods and services in cities to US dollars.

According to the EIU, cities have seen the biggest increase in transport costs due to rising petrol prices.
