Kochi: The police will take up nine cases against Saiju Thankachan, who was arrested in connection with the death of a model in a road accident in Kochi. The case was registered for drug use. Cases will be registered at various police stations. The case will be registered at Thrikkakara, Info Park, Maradu, Panangad, Fort Kochi and Idukki water plume stations.
The action is based on Saiju’s statement. The information about the drunken parties was obtained during the interrogation related to the death of the models. The case is based on pictures and videos obtained from his mobile phone. The forest department may also file a case against Saiju for poaching wild buffalo.
Strict action will be taken against those who participated in Saiju’s drunken parties. Several videos of drug use were found on Saiju’s mobile phone. Saiju told police that these were intoxicating parties. Police have identified the perpetrators of these videos. Legal advice will be sought in filing a case against them. Saiju will question Thankachan’s associates.
Saiju has asked the people who chatted to appear before the probe team. All the people who were seen using drugs in the footage obtained from the phone are under police surveillance. The cyber cell will also check Saiju’s WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
