Modi’s politics of hate must be stopped; Thol Thirumavalavan screened the Tamil version of the BBC documentary

CHENNAI: Vithuthalai Chirutaikal Kachchi (VCK) leader Thol Thirumavalavan screened the Tamil version of the BBC documentary India: The Modi Question on the Gujarat riots. The exhibition was held at the party office.

He also said that the hate politics followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be stopped. He said that Modi rose to the top not by fighting for the poor or fighting for people’s rights but by spreading hatred.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not risen to the top by fighting for people’s rights. Hate and hate is being spread. Modi has created a kind of hollow feeling that only he can do all this. That is how Modi rose from the state level to the national level,’ said Thol Thirumavalavan.

A few parties like VCK and Dravidar Kazhagam are fighting hard against BJP. He added that what should be discussed now is what will happen to the country if the BJP comes to power in 2024.

“Many people have been seen criticizing Periyarism and the likes of VCK and Dravader Kazhagam. It does not say that it is the party or its policies that should be criticized. But more important now is Modi’s politics of hate. How do you think Modi will counter the hate spewed out? ,’ Thol Thirumavalava asked.

Earlier, the screening of the documentary, which was to be held by the left-wing students, was banned in the campuses. In the context of this, CPIM Tamil Nadu State Secretary K. Balakrishnan came to the scene.

Meanwhile, VCK leader and MP D. Ravikumar, director Vetrimaran, Dravidar Kazhakam leader Kali Poonkundran and others participated in the exhibition.
