Hearing aids from Aural hearing centers: this is how the most modern hearing aids are

Some of you must have heard of the “sonotone”. Sonotone was an American hearing aid brand created in the 1930s that was so popular in our country that it even gave its name to the entire category. Even today there are people who refer to hearing aids as “sonotones”.

However, today’s modern hearing technology has little to do with the “sonotones” of yesteryear.

And not just because of his appearance, but also. This is corroborated by Jaume Forner, hearing care professional and Training Manager of the Aural network of hearing centers, the pioneers in audiology in our country.

Today’s hearing aids, he explains, are highly technological devices endowed with a careful design that makes them practically an aspirational object. They have metallic colors, with a very technological look, they are discreet, practically invisible in some cases, and they are designed to be attractive to people who are more concerned about their aesthetics. “Hence, in recent years -they explain from Aural-, we are seeing lifestyle icons showing off their hearing aids on social networks and showing them to their followers in the same way that they show the rest of their image”.

But the most important qualitative leap in the world of audiology has undoubtedly come from the hand of technology.

Since the first digital hearing aid, called WIDEX SENSO, was launched in Spain in 1996, the sector has not stopped evolving, incorporating features never before imaginable.

More recently, in 2018, thanks to their technological partner, the Danish manufacturer Widex, they became the first to be able to offer their customers aural hearing aids with artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence makes the hearing aid know how a person likes to hear in each situation so that whenever the person finds themselves in a similar situation again, it offers them that adjustment option.

We give an example. A hearing aid user is in a restaurant with a lot of background noise. The hearing aid automatically adapts to that environment, but perhaps that person just doesn’t hear well. Through an app installed on her mobile, the hearing aid user adjusts his hearing to her preferences. Well, when that person goes to a restaurant with background noise again, the hearing aid will remember the parameters that the user set in that first restaurant and will adjust to that hearing.

But it is also that today’s modern hearing aids have direct connectivity with iOS and Android. Something essential for the youngest and most active users, since it allows them to hear any audio from their mobile or tablet directly through their hearing aids.

But the technological evolution does not stop and the Aural hearing centers returned, in 2020, to star in a giant leap by presenting their new WIDEX MOMENT hearing aids. They launched with the ambitious slogan of “the first hearing aid that doesn’t sound like a hearing aid” because they achieved what was never seen before in the industry: that hearing aids delivered a truly natural sound, eliminating the metallic or artificial noise that even the best of the best had previously provided. earphones.

Benefits, all of them, unthinkable decades ago. What will be next?
