“We will break your teeth”: Iran’s threatening message to the United States

by time news

The Iranian state media reported today (Thursday) that as part of the talks in Vienna, Iran has forwarded to the signatories of the 2015 nuclear agreement two drafts on the removal of sanctions and nuclear commitments. Iran’s chief negotiator, Ali Bagri, told reporters in Vienna: “We gave them two possible drafts. Of course they need to check the texts we sent.” He added that “if they are willing to continue the talks – we are in Vienna.” A European diplomat confirmed that an Iranian draft document had indeed been submitted.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian said he was not optimistic about the wishes and intentions of the United States and European countries regarding a return to the nuclear deal.

In addition, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Ismail Ghani, threatened that Iran would “break its teeth” on the United States if it took any action against it.

As mentioned, the very existence of the documents is published during the fourth day of the indirect talks, which take place between the United States and Iran, with the aim of returning both to the agreement. The talks are taking place after a five-month hiatus, following the election of the new Iranian president, Ibrahim Raisi.

As part of the agreement, signed during the Obama administration, Tehran agreed to some restrictions on its nuclear program – in exchange for easing economic sanctions imposed on it by the United States, the European Union and the United Nations. However, former US President Donald Trump abandoned the agreement in 2018. And imposed new US sanctions on Iran, causing Tehran to exceed the restrictions it agreed to under the agreement.

Meanwhile, the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Ismail Kaani, threatened the United States. “We will break your teeth if you make the slightest move towards Tehran,” he said on state television, “the time has passed when you can do as you please.”
