Girona journalist Alba Siderawho has been living in Rome for fifteen years and she specializes in the study of the extreme right and political analysisconsiders that the rise of the ultra-right has not yet reached its ceiling and will continue to grow. Sidera, who on Monday participated in the XI Rahola Week organized by the College of Journalists and the Provincial Government of Girona, considers that the more radical right still has a way to go, because the current situation of crisis, insecurity and uncertainty gives wings to the most extreme discourses.

In a conversation with the journalist Salvador Garcia-Arbós at the Carles Rahola Library in Girona, the correspondent in Italy was not very optimistic about the topic raised: “Repeat history: fascism in the corner”. From his perspective, he analyzed Italian and European politics to try to explain the growth of the far-right, which has ruled Italy for a few months, and which in many other European countries has the power to set the political agenda.

Rahola Week will continue on Thursday, February 16, at 6 p.m., also in the library, with a “Journey to the trenches” starring the journalist and screenwriter Eloi Vila (In the car, How much war!). Vila will review his professional journey and his vision on democratic memory in conversation with journalist Clara Vicenç.

In addition to Sidera, photojournalist Emilio Morenatti and TV3 journalist Manel Alías have so far starred in the events of the week dedicated to communication.
