Posted after September 18? Then repeat vaccination against corona is not necessary Zeeland news

by time news

People who have had the repeat shot against corona after September 18 do not need a new vaccination.

They are sufficiently protected because they have received the latest vaccine, according to the Ministry of Health.

During the previous vaccination rounds, people could get the next shot after three months. At the vaccination locations of the GGD, people regularly walk in for a repeat injection because the period of three months has passed.

But that is not necessary. The renewed vaccines were administered after September 18 and they work well against becoming seriously ill due to corona.

Anyone who has received a repeat injection before that date, or has not yet been vaccinated at all, can still go to the injection locations of the GGD Zeeland. The four permanent locations are in Goes (Monday and Friday), Terneuzen (Tuesday and Friday), Vlissingen (Wednesday) and Zierikzee (Thursday). In addition, the GGD has opened a number of mobile locations throughout the province. The decision whether those mobile locations will remain open after February has not yet been made.

Anyone aged twelve and older can get an injection, with or without an appointment. Current opening hours and locations can be found on the website ggdzeelandprikt.nl.

Children up to and including 11 years

On the advice of the Health Council, the ministry has decided that the corona shot is no longer necessary for most children aged 5 to 11 years. Children do not get very ill from the common omicron variant. Many children have already had corona, so they are better protected. From 23 February, only children with an increased risk will be eligible for a corona shot.
