A respectable achievement for Anastasia Gurbanko yesterday (Saturday) when she reached third place in the 100m individual medley with a great time of 57.97 seconds, 7 hundredths of a second from the Israeli record. This is Gorbenko’s best time of the season in the ISL League.
The winner of the ointment is the outstanding of the season and one of the greatest swimmers of all time, the Swedish Sarah Shustrom who won with 57.46 seconds. Second place went to Beta Nelson with 57.72 seconds. Gorbanko later jumped to the 100m freestyle as part of her team’s mixed relay team, Los Angeles Carnet, setting a time of 52.87 seconds.
The 18-year-old Israeli has had a very successful season with 8 competitions, four personal victories, seven Israeli records and one more youth record. The final itself was tense as the advantage switched hands between Kali Condors and Energy Standard. In the end, Energy Standard won the ISL Championship with a gap of only 12 points. The Israeli Los Angeles Carnet came in fourth.
