Ankara: In Turkey and Syria, the death toll from the earthquake has exceeded 46 thousand.
In the West Asian countries Turkey and Syria, a powerful earthquake occurred in succession on the 6th. It registered 7.8 on the Richter scale.
Due to the strong earthquake and aftershocks that followed, more than 12,000 buildings were razed to the ground. The work of rescuing people trapped in the rubble in the affected areas is ongoing.
More bodies are being recovered during the rescue operation. Some were rescued alive from the rubble. In this case, as of today (19.02.2023), it has been reported that the death toll from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 46,442. 40,642 people died in Turkey and 5,800 people died in Syria. More than 3 lakh buildings were destroyed. Rescue work is also going on in the ruins.
