Dr. Sunny P, who treated actress and presenter Subi Suresh in her last days, said that it was not the delay in the liver transplant that led to her death. By the time the surgery was completed, Subi was unresponsive to treatment. First it affected the kidney and soon the heart. The doctor said the cause of death was heart failure. But Dr. Sunny said that organ transplantation is not something that can be done very quickly. He clarified that despite the procedures being done very quickly, the disease worsened and led to death. A donor was found after a long search. Subi’s own close relative came forward for organ transplant. The proceedings after that were completed very quickly. After completing all the procedures with the medical board in the hospital, it was left for the consideration of the state medical board. The state medical board was supposed to give permission today. Dr. Sunny said that the procedures for that had been completed at Kalamassery Medical College.
